Alone with nothing but her own thoughts and a well meaning family, she moves back to her childhood home, a horse farm. It’s there that she finds herself healing along with the horses her family rehabilitates. But when Parker McKenzie comes back into her life she’s reminded of all that went wrong, and all that she lost. Meet the Author author picA.E. Woodward lives in Vacationland with her husband and two young children. Between her day job and the pursuance of a master’s degree, she wrote her first novel, Imperfectly Perfect. Since then she has written three more novels, Imperfectly Real, Kismet, and Imperfectly Bad. excerpt
In the twenty minutes that has passed since my Mom called Parker, the kitchen has become a hub of excitement and confusion. I’m still sitting on the hallway floor. In all the confusion I think I’ve been forgotten. But that’s fine, because I’m really good with being alone. It’s soothing for me to be lonely. That, and listening to all the conversation gives me something else to focus on besides myself. Tommy and Pop eventually join Mom and Stevenson in the kitchen, waiting for Parker. Each of them throw their two cents in as to how this should go down. Tommy insists that he should go with us, saying that Parker can’t handle the responsibility. I appreciate that he’s still trying to look out for my best interests, but the fact of the matter is that Tommy doesn’t know the half of what I need. He goes round with Mom and Pop, but Stevenson stops him. “We need to follow her lead, Tommy.” “I just don’t think her going there with him is the best option right now!” Tommy yells. “Now, I respect your concern, Tommy, and we all appreciate that you want the best for your sister. However, if Katie wants to go alone with Parker then that is what we give her. She needs to be in control of her own recovery. We need to remember that this isn’t about us. She’s an adult, she can make her own choices.” Tommy lets out a sarcastic laugh just before I hear the screen door fling open, the springs creaking in response, and then quickly slamming shut. “What the hell is going on?” Parker asks anxiously. Quickly, Stevenson fills Parker in on my request. He adds that Parker shouldn’t feel pressured, especially if he’s not comfortable with the situation, but that he needs to understand how huge this could be for my treatment. “Why me?” he questions. “I dunno, Parker,” Tommy barks. “Why you?” There’s a brief, awkward silence before Stevenson clears his throat and continues to speak. “Obviously Katie knows you well enough to know that you’ll be there for her, while allowing her enough independence to cope with it on her own terms. She’s trusting you,” Stevenson says without emotion. “I don’t know if I can do this,” he mutters. Experience tells me that he’s most likely running his hands through his hair. He always does when he’s nervous. A fist slams against the table, making me jump out of my skin. “You’re right, you can’t!” “Tommy!” Mom scolds. A few more moments of awkward silence pass. I can only imagine the looks that are being thrown in that kitchen. The tension is surely raising a few questions in everyone’s mind. “I just don’t think this is the best idea,” Tommy speaks quietly. “You’re in over your head, Park.” “We’ve been here before, Tommy,” Parker reminds him. “Exactly.” Social Links

Bonded In Shadows

Paranormal Romance
Date Published: 5/6/2014

Synopsis:
When a family celebration threatens to turn into a disaster, there is only one person to blame- Asia Thompson, a member of the pack who also holds the title of Draven’s former first love.

After fighting almost impossible odds, Jes and Draven are finally together, but emotions are high strung now that Asia has shown up unannounced with the intention to take what she thinks she’s entitled to, including Draven.

Dealing with the protocol of Draven’s pack leaves a sour taste in Jes’ mouth. She’s battled every inner demon she has in order to be with her man. She wants their family to be first, not second which is easier said than done when she feels Draven is choosing his pack over family.

The pack has a way of digging their claws into their happily ever-after, pulling Draven further and further from his family’s needs. With Asia’s manipulative schemes combined with the conflict over their daughter’s birthday ritual, the couple’s bond is truly tested.

Join the members of Shadow Unit as they celebrate Family, in Bonded in Shadows a Shadow Unit Novella.
Excerpt:
“Dude, you totally fucked up. Had I done something like that, Bells would have my nuts crushed between her palms.”
Royce wasn’t making the situation better, Draven thought to himself. Yeah, he fucked up, had admitted he fucked up, but she still wanted to sulk in it. He was not that guy. You fucked up, you apologized, and you moved on. Not dwell on it.
Ronin as always was silent.
“Who is this Asia broad anyway? And why did she think it was okay to climb you like a stripper pole?”
Did he really have a good answer for the second half of Royce’s question? Nope.
“My ex-girlfriend. We were going to be mated until she left me for my brother Aidan.”
“Fuck.” Ronin said under his breath. Royce pulled out one of his red cigarettes lighting it, he took a puff, spit out some of the stuffing that stuck to his lips before coughing. Yeah, that pretty much summed it up. He was fucked.
Royce placed a hand on his shoulders while blowing out his smoke. His eyes filled with concern.
“That’s tough. Why would she come here now?”
“My father has it in his head I should be with her instead of Jes. That’s the only thing I can think of, the only thing that makes sense. It doesn’t help that Jes and I haven’t exchanged blood. I’ve marked her, but that was it. I don’t smell like her, but she smells like me. To the pack she isn’t even recognized as my mate, more so because she’s not a Lycan. It’s like saying she’s my mistress”
“Well fucking exchange blood.” Ronin said. To the point. Problem fixed. He had an answer for everything. It wasn’t like Draven had no intention of doing that, but she’d gone bat-shit crazy back at the house. His anger made him leave, If he’d stayed he would have said worse things. He was a hot-head, he knew that, but he wasn’t going to take it out on her. Never.
He was reminded of how they’d run into each other back when she was looking to escape her ex-husband. She’d been scared of him then. She’d also been human. But because of what some bastard did to her while she’d been trapped in that warehouse, torturing her for his own pleasure, she was now immortal. Her life no longer fleeting. Now she didn’t care who the male was, if they did something she didn’t like, she went  ballistic. He’d seen her fight in the cage the night she’d almost died at Enri’s hands. She’d been ruthless and hadn’t even used her full power. A small part of him didn’t wish this kind of life for her or his daughter, but a bigger part of him was glad they were with him. He was selfish for thrusting Jes into his world without explaining the intricacies of pack law. He’d reasoned they’d only be here a few days and after that everything would go back to normal.
He’d been wrong.

REVIEW:
Lovely Little Liar was a nice read. While this isn't usually my genre I really did enjoy the story.
I am not one for Historical Romances. Well I should say until this book!
The overall story line was smooth. It flowed well. I didn't feel like it was lacking anything. The plot was strong throughout the entire book.
The love the Abby and Rave had for each other was so sweet. While things were different in that time period I felt like as a reader I could fully understand how they felt.
The Author did a great job in portraying the time. I felt like I could imagine it all play out in my head.

I will be looking for more books by Gloria Gay in the future.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Gloria Gay

I am an artist/writer and also write poems. When I'm not writing or painting I'm either with my husband, watching tv, visiting with my family: our three adult children and six grand-children or doing something in my main hobbies, which are reading, gardening and cooking. I recently had a solo art exhibit at the Bonita Museum, Bonita, California.

I'm looking forward to the publication of my fifth Regency romance, LOVELY LITTLE LIAR, was issued by Boroughs Publishing Group on January 20, 2014.

I write very early in the morning or in the evening before I read either a Regency or a suspense novel.

I'm working on a Regency romance and a romantic mystery. I have finished a time-travel romance. I like to work on several projects at once. Even in painting I always have a few paintings going because I get stuck in something and start another one! Not a recommended way of painting or writing but that's the way I am.

I'm an avid reader, often unable to let go of a mystery until I reach the end.

I read romantic suspense, mysteries, Regency romances and once in a while a mainstream novel or classic.

I'm new here but eventually will built up my library with a heavy dose of the above books.

Lucky Numbers Adult Excerpt
“Put your hand under your dress,” he said, his thumb still stroking that damn wet beer bottle like it was her clit. Kaley turned to see if anyone was watching. “Hey!” Lucky’s stern voice whipped her head back to him. “Look at me. Don’t worry about anyone else. I’ll warn you if someone is coming.” His feet spread her legs farther apart. “Where you’re sitting, I’m the only person who can see you. Now, do as I say, unless you want me to stop.” His daring eyes held hers, and all discretion slipped out of her grasp. She gave him his answer by dropping her hand beneath the table. “That’s good,” he rasped, deep and low. “Now place your hand on your thigh and slide up to the top of it. Are you there yet?” She nodded. “I want you to grip it hard.” With her heart racing and wishing his hand was there instead of hers, her fingers dug into her flesh. His eyes raping her of any reluctance, he bent forward and grunted, “Harder.” Noting all the hot spots, the tight grip he had on the beer, his biceps and the tattoos bulging from the cut of his sleeves, his mouth that lay slightly open, Kaley squeezed tighter. “Are you wet?” “Yes,” she gasped, clinging tighter to her thigh. “I’m so wet.” His tongue tapped his top lip. “Are you throbbing?” “God, I’m aching for you,” she said, and she meant it, for she wanted nothing more than his tongue on her. “Kaley,” he said, swaying closer, tempting her, “tell me, is your pussy mine?” “Yes,” she breathed out. “It’s all yours.” “Then touch what is mine.” Lucky Teaser 4-29 Social Links
